With a focus on strengthening vocational education in schools of Kerala and Mizoram, a 03 day Orientation Programme on NEP 2020 for Strengthening VET in Schools was organised by the Pandit Sundarlal Sharma Central Institute of Vocational Education (PSSCIVE), Bhopal from 4^th - 6^th January, 2023.

In his inaugural address, Dr Deepak Paliwal, Joint Director, PSSCIVE underscored the importance of inculcating future skills in vocational education. Dr Vinay Swarup Mehrotra, Programme Coordinator, PSSCIVE, emphasized that on-the-job training and academia-industry linkages are one of the most important components of VET, besides the need for training students on 21^st century skills. 

The key functionaries from Kerala and Mizoram were trained in the workshop mode, which included group discussion, chart preparation, slide presentations and interactive exercises in which the participants actively participated to achieve the learning outcomes. Recommendations of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 on vocational education, best practices of vocational education adopted by schools, vocational pedagogy, prevocational education, use of ICT tools in VE, competency based assessment and evaluation and the National Credit Framework, National Skill Qualifications Framework, were discussed during the sessions of the programme. The programme ended with the presentation of certificate of participation to the participants.
